Nighttime Lane Restrictions on Centerville Road/WB Route 30 at Centerville Road Interchange Improvement Project in E. Hempfield Township, Lancaster County

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that nighttime lane restrictions will continue this week and next week on Centerville Road at the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement Project in E. Hempfield Township, Lancaster County. Nighttime lane restrictions are also planned on westbound Route 30 this week.

Weather permitting, lane restrictions will be implemented on Centerville Road from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM tonight, Monday, May 5, through Friday night, May 9, and again during the same hours the following week for milling and paving between Hempland Avenue and Columbia Avenue (Route 462).

On Wednesday, May 14, there will be lane restrictions and intermittent stoppages at Centerville Road and Hempland Road so the contractor can install and activate the new traffic signal mast arms and deactivate the temporary signal at this location.

Major delays are expected for this work and motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes.

This Tuesday night, May 6, through Friday night, May 9, there will be right lane closures on westbound Route 30 at the interchange so the contractor can pour new concrete roadway in this area. Minor delays are expected for this work.

This work is part of the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement project, which consists of structure replacement, Superpave overlay, base replacement, roadway widening, milling, guiderail improvements, drainage improvements, pavement markings, ADA improvements, traffic signal improvements, and other miscellaneous construction.

The project includes work on Centerville Road from Cornerstone Drive to Marietta Avenue (Route 23), and Marietta Avenue from Centerville Road to Stony Battery Road. The project is primarily located in East Hempfield Township, though the section from Cornerstone Drive to Columbia Avenue is in Manor Township.

JD Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, PA is the prime contractor on this $36.3 million project. Work is expected to be completed in August of 2025.
