Road work continues on Route 30
Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that milling and final paving is scheduled to begin next week at the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement Project in E. Hempfield Township, Lancaster County. This work will be performed at night and will impact traffic within the project limits.
The contractor will initially begin milling and paving on Marietta Avenue (Route 23). Work will be performed nightly from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM. There may be intermittent closures of up to 15 minutes at intersections and driveways so paving can be performed.
Once Marietta Avenue is complete, the contractor will move to Centerville Road and work southward. There may be intermittent closures of up to 15 minutes at intersections and driveways so paving can be performed.
Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes as delays are expected.
Work will continue on Route 30 with nightly lane restrictions.
This work is part of the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement project, which consists of structure replacement, Superpave overlay, base replacement, roadway widening, milling, guiderail improvements, drainage improvements, pavement markings, ADA improvements, traffic signal improvements, and other miscellaneous construction.
The project includes work on Centerville Road from Cornerstone Drive to Marietta Avenue (Route 23), and Marietta Avenue from Centerville Road to Stony Battery Road. The project is primarily located in East Hempfield Township, though the section from Cornerstone Drive to Columbia Avenue is in Manor Township.
JD Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, PA is the prime contractor on this $36.3 million project. Work is expected to be completed in August of 2025.
