King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that roadway construction will continue on two state highways in Newtown Township, Delaware County, under a local safety improvement project.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Tuesday, July 9, through Friday, July 19, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place weeknights and Sunday nights on Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in both directions between Boot Road and Charles Ellis Drive for milling and paving.
- Monday, July 15, through Friday, August 30, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a weekday lane closure will be in place on Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in both directions between Boot Road and Bryn Mawr Avenue for roadway construction.
- From 7:00 PM Friday, July 26, to 6:00 AM Monday, July 29, Bryn Mawr Avenue will be closed and detoured at the intersection with Route 3 (West Chester Pike) for drainage installation. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Route 3 (West Chester Pike) and Route 320 (Sproul Road). Local access will be maintained up to the work zone.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near or through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
