    Roadway Construction Planned on Route 3 (West Chester Pike), Bryn Mawr Avenue in Newtown Township, Delaware County

    ​King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that roadway construction will continue on two state highways in Newtown Township, Delaware County, under a local safety improvement project. 

    Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
    • Tuesday, July 9, through Friday, July 19, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place weeknights and Sunday nights on Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in both directions between Boot Road and Charles Ellis Drive for milling and paving. 
    • Monday, July 15, through Friday, August 30, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a weekday lane closure will be in place on Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in both directions between Boot Road and Bryn Mawr Avenue for roadway construction. 
    • From 7:00 PM Friday, July 26, to 6:00 AM Monday, July 29, Bryn Mawr Avenue will be closed and detoured at the intersection with Route 3 (West Chester Pike) for drainage installation. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Route 3 (West Chester Pike) and Route 320 (Sproul Road). Local access will be maintained up to the work zone.
    Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near or through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

    Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
