King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing operations are scheduled on several state highways in Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties under multiple ongoing projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway across the Philadelphia region.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
Chester County
- Sunday, May 19, through Thursday, May 23, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 796 (Jennersville Road) between Route 896 (Newark Road) and Route 41 (Gap Newport Pike) in New London, Penn, and Londonderry townships for paving.
- Sunday, May 19, through Thursday, May 23, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 340 (West Kings Highway) between the Lancaster County line and Compass Road in West Caln Township for milling and paving.
- Sunday, May 19, through Thursday, May 23, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Wagontown Road between Manor Road and the West Caln Township line in Valley Township for milling and paving.
- Sunday, May 19, through Thursday, May 23, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Caln Road/Reeceville Road between Business U.S. 30 (Lincoln Highway) and Fisherville Road in Caln Township for milling and paving.
- Sunday, May 19, through Thursday, May 23, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 10 (Limestone Road) between Route 472 (Market Street) and Route 41 (Gap Newport Pike) in Oxford Borough and Lower Oxford, Upper Oxford, and West Fallowfield townships for base repair, milling, and paving.
Delaware County
- Sunday, May 19, through Tuesday, May 21, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Thompson Avenue between Baltimore Pike and Route 320 (Sproul Road) in Springfield Township for paving.
- Sunday, May 19, and Friday, May 24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Cedar Grove Road between Route 252 (Newtown Street Road) and Route 320 (Sproul Road) in Marple and Newtown townships for utility adjustments, milling, and paving.
- Monday, May 20, through Friday, May 24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Wallingford Avenue between Manchester Avenue and Route 252 (Providence Road) in Nether Providence Township for utility adjustments, milling, and paving.
- Tuesday, May 21, through Friday, May 24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Victory Avenue between Route 3 (West Chester Pike) and the Victory Avenue Bridge over Cobbs Creek in Upper Darby Township for utility adjustments, milling, and paving.
Montgomery County
- Sunday, May 19, through Friday, May 24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Stenton Avenue between Creekside Drive and Walton Road in Whitpain and Whitemarsh townships for milling and paving.
- Monday, May 20, through Friday, May 24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled in both directions on Bethlehem Pike between Valley Green Road and Route 73 (Church Road) in Whitemarsh Township for milling and paving.
- Monday, May 20, through Friday, May 24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled at the Bala Avenue and U.S. 1 (City Avenue) Intersection in Lower Merion Township for utility adjustment.
Philadelphia
- Monday, May 20, through Friday, May 24, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Walnut Street between 33rd Street and 63rd Street (Cobbs Creek Parkway) for line striping.
- Monday, May 20, through Friday, May 24, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Aramingo Avenue between York Street and Wheatsheaf Lane for line striping.
- Monday, May 20, through Friday, May 24, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Castor Avenue between U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) and Richmond Street for line striping.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under these resurfacing and improvement projects, PennDOT's contractors are repairing, milling, and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement that will seal roadways and provide motorists with a safer and smoother riding surface.
