    Resurfacing Operations Scheduled Next Week on Several State Highways Across the Philadelphia Region

    King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing operations are scheduled on several state highways in Philadelphia, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties under several projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway across the region.

    Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

    Philadelphia

    • Monday, October 2, through Wednesday, October 4, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Castor Avenue between Richmond Street and U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) for paving;
    • Monday, October 2, through Wednesday, October 4, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on the eastbound I-76 ramp to Passyunk Avenue for line striping and raise pavement marking installation;
    • Monday, October 2, through Wednesday, October 4, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on the Passyunk Avenue ramp to westbound I-76 for line striping and raise pavement marking installation;
    • Monday, October 2, through Wednesday, October 4, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on the 34th Street ramp to westbound I-76 for line striping and raise pavement marking installation; and
    • Monday, October 2, through Friday, October 6, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on westbound Walnut Street between 33rd Street and 63rd Street for prep work and paving.

    Chester County

    • Sunday, October 1, from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, and Monday, October 2, through Wednesday, October 4, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 29 (Morehall Road) between U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) and Flat Road/Atwater Road in East Whiteland and Charlestown townships for paving and casting adjustments;
    • Sunday, October 1, through Thursday, October 5, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 10 (Limestone Road) between Route 472 (Market Street) and Route 41 (Gap Newport Pike) in Oxford Borough and Lower Oxford, Upper Oxford, and West Fallowfield townships for milling and base repair; and
    • Tuesday, October 2, through Friday, October 6, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, lane closures are scheduled on Gulph Road between County Line Road and Worthington Road in Tredyffrin Township for milling and paving.

    Delaware County

    • Tuesday, October 3, through Friday, October 6, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a lane closure will be in place on Lawrence Road between Eagle Road and Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in Haverford Township for milling, paving, and utility adjustments.

    Montgomery County

    • Monday, October 2, through Friday, October 6, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Lewis Road between Linfield Trappe Road and Main Street in Royersford and Limerick townships for milling and paving; and
    • Monday, October 2, through Friday, October 6, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Yerger Road between Neiffer Road and Gerloff Road in Lower Frederick Township for milling and paving.

    Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

    This work is part of several resurfacing projects underway across the Philadelphia region totaling $134 million. Under these projects, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surfaces and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.

    Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
