King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the Philadelphia Water Department will be performing water main construction and roadway repairs on Route 291 (George C. Platt Bridge) in Philadelphia beginning Friday, February 3.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- From 9:00 PM Friday, February 3, to 5:00 AM Monday, February 6, a lane closure is scheduled on eastbound Route 291 (George C. Platt Bridge) between Island Avenue and 26th Street.
- Monday, February 6, through Tuesday, February 7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on eastbound Route 291 (George C. Platt Bridge) between Island Avenue and 26th Street.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Philadelphia Water Department will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
