King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that construction activities will occur at night next week to install Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) components on northbound Interstate 95 in Delaware and Philadelphia counties.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Monday, September 23, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a right lane closure will be in place on northbound I-95 between the I-476 (Exit 7) and Ridley Park (Exit 8) interchanges in Ridley Township and Ridley Park Borough, Delaware County.
- Monday, September 23, through Wednesday, September 25, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a left or right lane closure will be in place on the northbound deck (lower) on the I-95 Girard Point Bridge between Penrose Avenue (Route 291) and Broad Street (Route 611) in Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time for travel through the work areas. The schedule is weather dependent.
The work is being done under a $24.1 million contract to install ITS components to assist PennDOT's Traffic Management Center in monitoring conditions on regional highways.
