King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) construction is planned next week on U.S. 1 in Bensalem and Middletown townships under PennDOT’s $116 million project to reconstruct, widen, and improve a three-mile section of U.S. 1 in Bucks County.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Monday, March 10, through Wednesday, March 13, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures will be in place on U.S. 1 in both directions between Rockhill Drive and Fairhill Avenue to allow crews to shift northbound U.S. 1 traffic onto the newly built lanes on the bridge over Neshaminy Creek.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The work is part of PennDOT’s U.S. 1/RC2 contract that will reconstruct and widen U.S. 1 from south of the Rockhill Drive Interchange to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 Interchange.
