Bridge Replacement Project to Resume on Route 6 in Richmond Township, Tioga County

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a bridge replacement project will resume next week on Route 6 in Richmond Township, Tioga County. The bridge, which carries Route 6 over a tributary to North Elk Run, is located approximately 2.8 miles east of Route 660 in Charleston Township and approximately 2.5 miles west of Route 15 in Mansfield.

On Monday, March 3, 2025, the contractor, H&P Construction, Inc., will begin working on the temporary roadway and will start to construct the temporary bridge. Motorists traveling Route 6 can expect single lane conditions with flagging.

Road Closure
On Monday, March,17 2025, North Schodac Road and South Schodac Road will be closed at the intersection with Route 6.

Long-Term Detours
North Schodac Road

  • A detour using Hollow Road and Route 6 will be in place through November.

South Schodac Road

  • A detour using Spencer Road, Route 660, and Route 6 will be in place through November.

Residents will have access to their properties.

H&P Construction, Inc. is the prime contractor for this $5.4 million bridge replacement project. Work includes construction of a temporary structure, removal of the bridge over a tributary to North Elk Run, installation of a new concrete box culvert, approach work, line painting, and guide rail upgrades. There will be a winter shut down. Work on this project is expected to be completed in the Summer of 2026.
