6/30/2023 UPDATE: Base repairs on Bloom Road has been postponed and will begin on Sunday, July 9, 2023, between the hours of 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Tree trimming for the project will begin on Wednesday, July 5, and will be performed during daylight hours.
Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a resurfacing project is set to begin next week on Route 2008 (Bloom Road) in Danville Borough and Mahoning Township, Montour County.
Starting on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, the contractor, HRI, Inc., will be performing base repairs on Bloom Road between Cherry Street and Kaseville Road. Work will be performed between the hours of 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Motorists can expect single lane conditions with flagging where work is being performed.
Additional work includes minor tree trimming along the project route, which will be performed during daylight hours. Motorists can expect single lane conditions with flagging where work is being performed.
Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, watch for stopped or slow-moving traffic, and drive with caution through the work zone.
HRI, Inc., is the prime contractor for this $935,000 resurfacing project. Work includes base repairs, milling of the existing roadway, paving, and line painting. Work on this project is expected to be completed by October of 2023, weather permitting.
