4/10/24 Update (Rescheduled) Milling and Paving Work on Mahoning Street in Milton Borough Scheduled for Monday

April 10, 2024 Update: Work on this milling and paving project in Milton Borough will now take place on Saturday, April 13, 2024. 

Montoursville, PA – A one-day construction project will take place on Monday, April 8, 2024, in Milton Borough, Northumberland County on Route 642 (Mahoning Street), weather permitting. The work will take place on either side of the railroad crossing between Ferry Lane/Filbert Street and Route 1003 (Shakespeare Avenue)/Willow Street.

The project includes milling, paving, and painting stop bars on the roadway. Construction will be done in half width construction with flaggers controlling traffic on the roadway and the railroad tracks. Coordination has been made with Norfolk Southern Railroad.

 This work completes a larger resurfacing project that began last year on Route 405 (Garfield Avenue/Arch Street) and Mahoning Street in Milton Borough and Turbot Township. HRI, Inc., is the prime contractor for this $1,971,121 resurfacing project. Work on this project includes base repairs, milling of the existing roadway, paving, line painting, and sign upgrades.
