    PennDOT Announces Patching on Beaver Avenue in Centre County

    June 21, 2024

    ​Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that crews from its Centre County Maintenance organization will complete patching on portions of Beaver Avenue in Centre County starting Monday, June 24. This work will improve the ride quality of the road and enhance safety for motorists.

    Crews are scheduled to complete patching as follows:

    • Monday, June 24, in the left lane between Atherton and Allen streets. The right lane will remain open.
    • Tuesday, June 25, in the right lane between Atherton and Allen streets. The left lane will remain open.
    • Wednesday, June 26, in the left lane between Allen and Garner streets. The right lane will remain open.
    • Thursday, June 27, in the right lane between Allen and High streets. The left lane will remain open.
    • Friday, June 28, in the left lane between Garner and High streets. The right lane will remain open.
    • Monday, July 1, between Buckhout and Atherton streets. PennDOT will complete both lanes using single-lane closures.

    Motorists are advised to watch for slow moving and stopped vehicles through the entire work zone. ​

    Most permanent pothole patching is completed in the spring/summer when temperatures stay consistently above freezing. If maintenance crews were not repairing potholes, the road surface would break up further and require more expensive corrective measures.
