Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) updates drivers for the concrete preservation project on Route 220 in Clinton County. This project will improve ride quality, extend the roadway service life, and improve safety.
Starting Thursday, May 29, the contractor will plan to set up a traffic control in Clinton County. This will close the northbound on-ramp for Route 220 at Salona. Additionally, the right (travel) lanes northbound and southbound of Route 220 will be closed at the Salona, Mill Hall, and Avis overpasses. The southbound travel lane of Route 220 at Pine Creek exit will also be closed during this time.
The project involves repairing concrete roadway surfaces, improving roadside drainage, installing rumble strips, and marking pavement on six roadways in PennDOT’s North Central region. Route 322 between the Milroy and Reedsville-Belleville exits in Armagh and Brown townships saw work as part of this project during the 2024 construction season. The contractor will return to that site in the 2025 construction season to correct surface irregularities in the newly poured concrete. PennDOT will issue an update before their return.
Other roads to see work as part of this project during the 2025 construction season are:
- Routes 75 and 2001 (Industrial Park Road) north and southbound between Route 3002 (Main Street) and the interchange to Route 22/322 westbound toward Lewistown.
JVI Group Inc., of York Springs, PA, is the contractor for this $5.1 million project. PennDOT anticipates them completing the project in mid-October, but all work is weather-dependent.
