    PennDOT District 10 to Host Job Fair in Indiana County

    ​Indiana - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 10 is hosting a job fair for permanent full-time and seasonal full-time and part-time positions on September 12, 2023, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Indiana County Maintenance Office at 2550 Oakland Avenue, Indiana.

    Permanent full-time positions include:  CDL Operators (Transportation Equipment Operator A) and Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanics.  Seasonal full-time and part-time positions include Winter Equipment Operators and a Seasonal Clerk/Winter Dispatcher position.

    Full-time Equipment Operators plow snow and work on maintenance/construction sites, complete minor repairs to equipment and perform manual labor tasks and preventative maintenance on the trucks and equipment.  CDL Medical Certification and Drug/Alcohol testing are required for operators. 

    The Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic position performs repairs and maintenance on various pieces of PennDOT equipment and diesel-powered vehicles

    Part time/Winter Equipment Operator duties during the winter season include: snow removal, traffic control, equipment repair and maintenance, guide rail repair and truck unloading.  CDL Medical Certification and Drug/Alcohol testing are required for operators. 

    Seasonal Clerks/Winter Dispatchers coordinate responses to calls from the public and emergency services during snowstorms and perform clerical functions throughout the season.

    Those interested in a positions with PennDOT are encouraged to attend the job fair to learn more about the opportunities currently available. District employees will be on-hand to answer questions and assist those interested with employment applications.  Attendees to the event will be able to apply, interview and road test (if eligible).
