Indiana Bypass Ramp Closures to Be Completed by June 30 in White Township, Indiana County

Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing the Route 422 eastbound off ramp and the Route 286 on ramp to Route 422 eastbound on the Indiana Bypass (Route 422) will be completed by June 30.

Due to ongoing weather delays, both ramps will be completed no later than June 30 for crews to move onto the second phase of the project.  The ramps will require a nightly closure, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, for the repairs to be completed.  Closure and detour signs are posted.

To detour, Route 286 on ramp motorists will travel Route 286 east to Route 422 (Ben Franklin Road) then to Business Route 422 west (Philadelphia Street Extension) and back onto Route 422 eastbound at the Watts Hill interchange. To detour, Route 422 eastbound off ramp motorists will travel Route 422 eastbound to Exit B Route 119 North/Punxsutawney, follow Route 119 north to Exit B Route 422 West/Kittanning then Route 422 westbound to Route 286/Oakland Avenue Exit.

Contractor, Derry Construction Co., Inc. of Latrobe, PA will be completing this $14.5 million project anticipated to be completed in December 2025.
