9/8/2023 UPDATE (START DATE CHANGE) Resurface and ADA Curb Ramp Reconstruction Project Begins Today in Hughesville Borough, Lycoming County

9/8/2023 UPDATE:  Work on this project has been postponed and will begin on Monday, September 18, 2023.  

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a resurfacing and ADA curb ramp reconstruction project begins today on Route 405 (Main Street) between Lycoming Street and Route 118 in Hughesville Borough, Lycoming County.

On Wednesday, September 6, 2023, the contractor, HRI, Inc., will begin excavation work for the ADA curb ramps throughout the project area. Work will be performed during daylight hours. There will be minimal impact to traffic during this phase.

Additional work includes milling and resurfacing of Main Street. Work on this phase will be performed during the overnight hours. Motorists can expect single lane conditions with flagging. Information and schedules about the milling and resurfacing will be announced closer to the start date.

HRI, Inc., is the prime contractor for this $500,000 resurface and ADA reconstruction project. Work on this project includes milling and resurfacing of existing roadway, base repairs, joint repairs, scratch and wearing courses, construct ADA curb ramps, pavement markings, and other miscellaneous construction. Work is expected to be completed in October of 2023, weather permitting.

Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, watch for stopped or slow-moving vehicles, and drive with caution through the work zone.
