Paving Project Underway on Route 322 in French Creek Township, Mercer County

A $1.4 million resurfacing project that will give motorists a smoother ride on more than a mile of Route 322 in French Creek Township, Mercer County has begun.

Work will include milling and paving 1.15 miles of roadway from the Crawford County line near County Line Road in Wayne Township to the Venango County line near Fish Road in Canal Township.

Additional work will include shoulder repair, drainage updates, and new guiderail and pavement markings.

Construction began today, April 4, 2024, and is expected to be completed in August 2024.

Motorists may encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers. Drivers should be alert for traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions and anticipate travel delays during active work hours.

The contractor is Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc., State College, PA. The contract cost is $1,422,322 which is to be paid entirely with federal funds.
