King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that construction activities are planned next week on several state highways in Bucks, Chester, and Montgomery counties, under a $14.9 million project to improve stormwater management and facilities on more than 90 state highways across the five-county Philadelphia region.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
Bucks County
- Monday, November 20, and Tuesday, November 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Wednesday, November 22, from 9:00 AM to noon, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike) between Swartley Road and Orvilla Road in Hatfield Township, Montgomery County and Hilltown Township, Bucks County for stormwater replacement; and
- Monday, November 27, through Friday, December 1, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike) between Swartley Road and Orvilla Road in Hatfield Township, Montgomery County and Hilltown Township, Bucks County for stormwater replacement.
Chester County
- Monday, November 20, and Tuesday, November 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Wednesday, November 22, from 9:00 AM to noon, a lane closure is scheduled on Strasburg Road between Buck Run Road and Hephzilbah Hill Road in East Fallowfield Township for milling and paving;
- Monday, November 20, and Tuesday, November 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Wednesday, November 22, from 9:00 AM to noon, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 29 (Morehall Road) between Atwater Drive and the Pennsylvania Turnpike in East Whiteland Township for sawcutting and stormwater replacement; and
- Monday, November 27, through Friday, December 1, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 29 (Morehall Road) between Atwater Drive and the Pennsylvania Turnpike in East Whiteland Township for sawcutting and stormwater replacement.
Montgomery County
- Monday, November 20, and Tuesday, November 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Wednesday, November 22, from 9:00 AM to noon, a lane closure is scheduled on Susquehanna Road between Colonial Avenue and Easton Road in Abington Township for stormwater replacement.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. The schedule is weather dependent.
Highway Materials, Inc of Flourtown, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on this project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
