King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing is planned on Broad Street (Route 611) and several other state highways in Philadelphia, Bucks, Delaware, and Montgomery counties, under multiple ongoing projects to repair and pave more than 200 miles of state highway across the Philadelphia region.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
Philadelphia
- Monday, September 16, and Tuesday, September 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled in both directions on Broad Street (Route 611) between Penn Square and Oregon Avenue for prep work.
- Monday, September 16, through Friday, September 20, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, alternating lane closures are scheduled in both directions on Broad Street (Route 611) between Penn Square and Oregon Avenue for paving.
Bucks County
- Monday, September 16, through Thursday, September 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a weekday periodic lane closure with flagging is scheduled on George Washington Memorial Boulevard between Route 32 (River Road) and the approach to the Washington Crossing Bridge in Upper Makefield Township for milling and paving.
- Monday, September 16, through Friday, October 4, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Richlieu Road between Route 132 (Street Road) and Bristol Road in Bensalem Township for milling and paving.
Delaware County
- Monday, September 16, through Thursday, September 19, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, alternating lane closures are scheduled in both directions on U.S. 202 (Wilmington Pike) between the Delaware State line and Oakland Road in Concord and Chadds Ford townships for milling and paving.
- Monday, September 16, through Friday, September 20, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Kutztown Road between Route 663 (Layfield Road) and the Berks County line in Upper Hanover Township for milling and paving.
- Sunday, September 15, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning and Monday, September 16, through Friday, September 20, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Swamp Creek Road between Whites Mill Road and the Bucks County line in Marlborough Township for milling and paving.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under these resurfacing and improvement projects, PennDOT's contractors are repairing, milling, and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement that will seal roadways and provide motorists with a safer and smoother riding surface.
