King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the Philadelphia Water Department will be performing water main construction on Route 611 (Broad Street) in Philadelphia beginning Monday, May 20.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Monday, May 20, through Saturday, June 1, a 24/7 traffic shift is scheduled on southbound Route 611 (Broad Street) at the intersection with Lombard Street.
- Monday, May 20, through Saturday, June 1, a 24/7 left lane closure is scheduled on northbound Route 611 (Broad Street) at the intersection with Lombard Street. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Lombard Street, Route 611 (Broad Street), and Spruce Street.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Philadelphia Water Department will complete these projects under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
