King of Prussia PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that bridge inspections are scheduled next week on Interstate 95 and other state highways in Philadelphia and Bucks counties.
The work schedules and locations are:
Philadelphia
- Tuesday, October 31, from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on southbound I-95 between the Aramingo Avenue and the Interstate 676 Interchanges;
- Tuesday, October 31, and Wednesday, November 1, a left lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-95 between the Walt Whitman Bridge/Packer Avenue and the I-676 interchanges;
- Wednesday, November 1, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound City Avenue (U.S. 1) between at the I-76/ U.S. 1 North Interchange;
- Thursday, November 2, from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on southbound I-95 between the I-676 and the Walt Whitman Bridge/Packer Avenue interchanges; and
- Friday, November 3, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on southbound I-95 at the Walt Whitman Bridge/Packer Avenue Interchange.
Bucks County
- Friday, November 3, from 9:00 Am to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on New Falls Road between Bensalem Boulevard and Newportville Road in Bensalem and Bristol townships.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
These inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
