Dunmore, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) invites the public to an in-person and online plans display regarding Route 4001, Bridge Replacement Project in Clinton Township, Wayne, County. The plans will be available to view online and will be displayed for public viewing at the Clinton Township municipal building.
The structure is located on Route 4001 between Route 296 (Belmont Turnpike) and Little Keen Road.
The purpose of the project is to provide a sustainable crossing over Van Auken Creek that provides a two-lane bridge, addresses the structural deficiencies, and provides continued access to local residents, businesses, and emergency services.
The project consists of the replacement of the existing metal pipe arch bridge with a precast concrete box culvert, on similar roadway alignment. The permanent approach roadway work will include tie-ins with the existing roadway and guide rail upgrades.
A detour is required to perform the proposed work. Traffic will be detoured along a five mile route utilizing Route 296 (Belmont Turnpike), Route 4002 (Stanton Drive), and Route 4001 (Elk Lake Drive). It is anticipated that the detour will be in place for approximately three months during construction.
It is anticipated that construction is anticipated to take place during the 2025 construction season.
The purpose of the public presentation is to introduce the project and the associated detour route to receive public questions, Comments, and concerns.
The plans will be on display at the Clinton Township Municipal Building, located at 1977 White Oak Drive Forest City, PA 18421 from June 14, 2023, to July 12, 2023, during the Township posted operating hours.
