Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a resurfacing project is set to begin next week on Route 405 / 61 (Front Street) in the City of Sunbury and Route 11 in Northumberland Borough, Northumberland County.
City of Sunbury
Starting on Sunday, July 30, 2023, the contractor New Enterprise Stone and Lime, Co., will begin base repairs on Front Street between Shikellamy Avenue and Raspberry Avenue. Motorists can expect single lane conditions where work is being performed. Work will be performed daily starting on Sundays at 8:00 PM and ending Fridays at 4:00 AM, weather permitting.
Northumberland Borough
Starting on Monday, July 31, 2023, the contractor will continue construction new ADA accessible sidewalks and curbs along Route 11 in Northumberland Borough. Motorists can expect lane restrictions where work is being performed. Work will be performed between the hours of 6:30 AM and 5:00 PM.
New Enterprise Stone and Lime, Co., is the prime contractor for this $2,381,802 resurfacing project. Work on this project includes base repairs, mill and pave, bridge preservation, ADA ramps, and new curbing. Work is expected to be completed in September of 2023, weather permitting.
Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, watch for lane changes, and drive with caution through the work zone.
