Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a multi-year reconstruction project continues next week on Interstate 80 eastbound and westbound between Danville, Montour County and Limestoneville, Northumberland County.
On Monday, August 5, 2024, the contractor, Glenn O. Hawbaker, will begin work on the bridge that carries Stump Road (Route 3006) over Interstate 80 in both directions. Work includes raising the height of the bridge for the paving overlay, deck repairs, and resurfacing. Additional work includes guide rail upgrade and bridge preservation.
Traffic Impacts
On Monday, August 5, 2024, Stump Road will be closed between the intersection with Stump Road and Mauger Road to the north of Interstate 80 and Route 642 to the south of Interstate 80 in Liberty Township. A detour using Route 642, Narehood Road (Route 3003), and Stump Road will be in place through Monday, October 7, 2024.
Work on this bridge is part of the multi-year reconstruction project on Interstate 80 eastbound and westbound between Danville, Montour County and Limestoneville, Northumberland County. Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. is the prime contractor for this $53,138,380 project. Work includes roadway reconstruction, resurfacing, structure replacement, rehabilitation, preservation, lighting, and other miscellaneous work. This multi-year project is expected to be completed in 2027.
