Bridge Restriction Announced on Shamrock Road in Shamokin Township, Northumberland County

Montoursville, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advising motorists in Northumberland County that the bridge carrying Route 2010 (Shamrock Road) over the Shamokin Creek in Shamokin Township, Northumberland County, will be restricted to - bridge limited to one truck.

The restriction is being made based on a recent inspection indicating that the bridge girders are deficient.

School buses, emergency vehicles and local-delivery trucks are below the legal load limit and will therefore be able to cross the structure one truck at a time.

The restriction will be in effect once the required signs are erected by a PennDOT maintenance crew.
