Montoursville, PA – A bridge preservation project on 13 bridges on various routes in Lycoming County is set to begin next week. The bridge locations are as follows:
- Route 1002 (Trout Run Mountain Road) in Lewis Township over Lycoming Creek
- Route 1003 (Wallis Run Road) in Gamble Township over Wallis Run
- Route 1003 (Wallis Run Road) Northern end in Gamble Township over Wallis Run
- Route 1003 (Wallis Run Road) in Gamble Township over Salt Run
- Route 1004 (Southard Road) over Murray Run in Gamble Township
- Route 1005 (Lower Barbours Road) over Bear Creek in Plunketts Creek Township
- Route 1005 (Proctor Road) over Plunketts Creek in Plunketts Creek Township
- Route 1005 (Proctor Road) Northern end over Plunketts Creek in Plunketts Creek Township
- Route 2048 Local Road T-869 (Turkey Bottom Road) over Muncy Creek in Muncy Creek Township
- Route 2071 Local Road T-868 (Pine Run Road) over Muncy Creek in Wolf Township
- Route 2085 (Edkin Hill Road) over Spring Run in Penn/Shrewsbury Township
- Route 3024 (Jobs Run Road) over Larry's Creek in Mifflin Township
- Route 4016 Local Road T-756 (Slate Run Road) over Pine Creek in Brown Township
Beginning Monday, April 8, 2024, the contractor will begin the project in Lewis Township on the Route 1002 (Trout Run Mountain Road) bridge over Lycoming Creek.
Work will utilize half width construction with traffic controlled by flaggers except for Edkin Hill Road over Spring Run in Penn/Shrewsbury Township and Jobs Run Road over Larry's Creek in Mifflin Township which will be constructed under a seven-day detour.
Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. is the prime contractor on this $2 million project. Work is expected to take approximately seven months to complete, weather pending.
