Route 220 Resurfacing Project Begins Next Week in the City of Williamsport, Lycoming County

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a roadway resurfacing project begins next week on Route 220 in the City of Williamsport, Lycoming County.

The week of Monday, May 12, 2025, the contractor, Suit-Kote Corporation, will begin road work during daylight hours. Work includes joint repairs, and preparation application of a micro-surface treatment on Route 220 between the City of Williamsport and Linden. Motorists can expect single lane conditions where work is being performed.

Traffic Impacts
• Temporary traffic signals have been placed on Route 220 between Roaring Run Road and Big Run Road.
• Motorists can expect long-term single lane conditions through the fall 2025.

Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays, watch for changing traffic patterns, and drive with caution in the area. Motorists should approach crossovers with caution in the work zone.

Suit-Kote Corporation is the prime contractor on this $2.7 million, resurfacing project. Work on this project includes the mill and resurface of bridge approaches, micro-surface road treatment and line painting. Work will take place on Route 220 north and southbound between Linden and Williamsport, Route 220 northbound only between Pine Creek and the Route 287 interchange. Other areas of work are 1-mile of Broad Street (Route 2014) in Montoursville and 2.5-miles of Lycoming Mall Drive (Route 2014) east of the Fairfield Road interchange.

Work on this project is anticipated to be completed in the fall 2025, weather permitting.
