TRAFFIC ALERT:  DETOUR for Route 40 in Washington County

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is advising motorists that a portions of the following roadways in Washington County are currently closed – in both directions – due to a bridge strike. A detour has been implemented for Route 40.

  • Route 40 (National Pike) between Route 43 (Mon-Fayette Expressway) in California Borough and Route 88 (California Road)/Blaine Hill Road in West Brownsville Borough.
    • Westbound detour:
      • Route 88.
      • Route 2073 (Walden Road).
      • Route 40.
    • Eastbound detour:
      • Route 43.
      • Exit 32 for Route 2073 (Walden Road).
      • Route 88.
      • Route 40.
  • Route 2079 (Knob Road) overpass between Wilson Road in California Borough and Old National Pike in West Brownsville Borough. 

A reopening time is undetermined.

Motorists should seek alternate routes.
