PennDOT’s Westmoreland County Maintenance Update -- Week of September 9, 2024

​Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Westmoreland County Maintenance Manager Dave Forkey has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of September 9. All maintenance activities depend on weather and operations. 

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility. 

Cleaning ditch channels:

Box culvert replacement:

Litter crews will be picking litter. Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes countywide. 

PennDOT has a toll-free number – 1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623) – for residents to report road maintenance concerns and locations of dead deer on state highways.
