Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Westmoreland County Maintenance Manager Dave Forkey has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of June 17, 2024. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.
Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive with caution through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.
Box culvert replacement:
- Route 1005 (Shannon Creek Road) in Saint Clair Township.
Crack sealing:
- Route 30 (Lincoln Highway) in Derry and Unity townships.
Parallel ditching:
- Route 906 (Webster Road) in Rostraver Township.
Patching:
- Various routes countywide.
Pipe installation:
- Route 1034 (Athena Drive) in Salem Township.
- Route 3069 (Wendel Road) in Hempfield Township.
Pipe replacement:
- Route 3037 (Waltz Mill Road) in Sewickley Township.
Shoulder cutting:
- Route 819 (Armbrust Hecla Road) in Mount Pleasant Township.
Shoulder work:
- Route 119 (Main Street/Crabtree Road) in Hempfield Township.
Shoulder stabilization:
- Route 3037 (Main Street) in Madison Borough.
Slide repair:
- Route 1067 (Laughner Road) in Fairfield Township.
Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.
Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the county.
PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern. This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways. The number is 1.800.FIX ROAD (1.800.349.7623).
