Squirrel Hill Tunnel Overnight Inlet Cleaning Monday and Tuesday in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing inlet cleaning activities in the Squirrel Hill Tunnel in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, will occur Monday and Tuesday night, December 9-10.

Single-lane restrictions in the Squirrel Hill Tunnel in each direction will occur Monday and Tuesday night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. as crews conduct inlet cleaning operations. Work in the outbound (eastbound) direction will not begin until two after the end of Tuesday’s Penguin home game.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
