Route 50 Washington Avenue Improvements Continue Next Week in Carnegie

Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing improvement work on Route 50 (Washington Avenue) in Carnegie Borough, Allegheny County will occur Wednesday, August 23 through Monday morning, August 28 weather permitting.

Concrete patching, sawcutting, joint sealing, and other miscellaneous construction activities requiring single-lane alternating traffic on Route 50 between Boden Avenue and Lincoln Avenue will occur next week according to the following schedule: 

  • Wednesday through Friday – 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

  • Saturday from 7 a.m. continuously through 6 a.m. Monday

Additionally, work will occur on Academy Avenue at the intersection with Route 50.

Noise restrictions will be in place from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday nights. Overnight work will be limited to less disruptive operations.

Work on this $1.2 million project will occur on Route 50 between Boden Avenue and East Main Street.

Please use caution while traveling through the work zone. Flaggers will assist motorists through the construction area.

Gulisek Construction is the prime contractor.
