Baxter Bridge Replacement Project Resumes with Nighttime Flagging on June 17

Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 10 is announcing that the Baxter Bridge Replacement project on Mount Pleasant Road (Route 3003) in Clover Township, Jefferson County will have nighttime flagging operations near Route 28 starting June 17.

June 17 through 21, there will be nighttime flagging operations on Route 28 near the intersection of Mount Pleasant Road (Route 3003). Following the flagging operations, motorists should be alert for trucks entering and exiting the highway.

​This work is to prepare for the closure of Mount Pleasant Road for the bridge replacement.  Motorists will have a detour of Mount Pleasant Road (Route 3003) to Roller Coaster Road (Route 3022) to Heathville Ohl Road (Route 3007) to Route 28. A detour date has yet to be determined but is anticipated to occur at the beginning of August.  Additional information will follow once specific dates are set.

This project will start at the intersection with Route 28 and end on the east side of the Baxter Bridge and consists of a full bridge replacement and other miscellaneous construction. Contractor, Beech Construction, Inc. of Pittsburg, PA, will be completing this $4.75 million project that will conclude at the end of September 2025.
