Deck Sweeping Planned on Route 462 (Market Street) Bridge Over Mill Creek in Springettsbury and Spring Garden Townships, York County

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a contractor is scheduled to sweep the Route 462 (Market Street) bridge spanning Mill Creek in Springettsbury and Spring Garden townships, York County.

Weather permitting, this work will be performed from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday, July 17. A mobile sweeper will be used to clean loose aggregate from the bridge deck. This is a follow-up procedure for work performed in June, when an epoxy overlay was applied to the bridge deck.

There may be delays on Market Street, as well as nearby intersecting streets such as Belmont Street and North Hills Road.

This work is part of a project that consists of the replacement of the bridge, approach work, guide rail updates, drainage work, ramp re-alignment, signal upgrades, and other miscellaneous construction.

Clearwater Construction, Inc., of Mercer, PA, is the prime contractor on this $6,379,000 project.
