Bridge Closure Planned on Route 147 (Market Street) in Millersburg, Dauphin County

Bridge to be replaced; A 63-day detour will be in place

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a bridge replacement project is scheduled to resume next week on Route 147 (Market Street) in Millersburg Borough and Upper Paxton Township, Dauphin County.

The bridge, which spans Shippens Run between Bowman Street and Boyd Street, is expected to be closed in early May.

Weather permitting, on Monday, April 14, the contractor will resume work off the roadway. There will be no impacts to traffic.

An approximately 63-day closure is expected to begin Monday, May 5. A detour will be in place using Route 209 and Route 225.

Farhat Excavation, LLC, of Duncannon, PA, is the contractor on this $3,589,657 project.

All work on this contract is expected to be completed this construction season.
