    Plymouth Road Closed in Both Directions in Plymouth Township for Sinkhole Repair

    King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that Plymouth Road has been closed in both directions between Butler Pike and Rittenhouse Square for sinkhole repair in Plymouth Township, Montgomery County.  

    Southbound Plymouth Road was closed early this morning, following more excavation activity in the southbound lanes.

    Northbound Plymouth Road between Butler Pike and Rittenhouse Square has been closed since Friday evening, May 3, following the discovery of a sinkhole.

    During the closure of northbound and southbound Plymouth Road, motorists will be directed to use Germantown Pike, Joshua Road, and Flourtown Road. Local access will be maintained for all residents and businesses.  

    Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because slowdowns will occur. All activities are weather dependent.

    Plymouth Road will remain closed as PennDOT's contractor makes necessary repairs and safely reopens the highway. 

    Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
