Montoursville, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advising motorists in Sullivan County that Dushore Overton Road/Overton Road (Route 4018) in Dushore Borough, Forks and Cherry townships has been posted with a permanent, year-round, 10-ton weight restriction.
A 10-ton weight limit has been placed on Dushore Overton Road/Overton Road between Hottensteins Hill Road (Route 4016) Hottensteins Hill Road (Route 4016) and South German Street (Route 220).
The posting is being made based on a traffic-and-engineering study indicating that this highway may be damaged by vehicles that exceed the restriction.
School buses, emergency vehicles and local-delivery trucks are exempted from the postings.
A press release was distributed on August 8, 2024, advising the public that the roadway would be posted by the end of August 2024.
