Weight Restriction Announced for Route 2044 in Northumberland and Schuylkill Counties

Montoursville, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advising motorists in Northumberland County that Route 2044 (Gap Road / Upper Road / Franklin Avenue) in Zerbe, East Cameron, and West Cameron townships, has been posted with a permanent, year-round, 10-ton weight restriction. Route 2044 is located between Route 225 (Shamokin Street) in Zerbe Township, Northumberland County and Route 4024 (High Road) in Eldred Township, Schuylkill County.

The posting is being made based on a traffic-and-engineering study indicating that this highway may be damaged by vehicles that exceed the restriction.

School buses, emergency vehicles and local-delivery trucks are exempted from the postings.
