Resurfacing Project Continues on Route 220 SB in Lycoming County

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a roadway resurfacing project continues on Route 220 southbound in Porter, Piatt, and Pine Creek townships in Lycoming County.

Structure Work
The contractor, HRI, Inc., will be placing a waterproofing membrane on the deck of the structure carrying Route 220 southbound over the railroad. Motorists can expect the right (driving) lane to be restricted where work is being performed.

Resurfacing Project
A long-term lane restriction on Route 220 southbound starting just before the Main Street exit ramp to Route 44 in Piatt Township to the Thomas Street exit ramp in Porter Township is now in place. Motorists can expect the right (driving) lane to be restricted while work is being performed. Work includes base repairs, milling of the road, paving, line painting, and guide rail upgrade.

Work will be performed Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, weather permitting.

Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel and drive with caution.

HRI Inc. is the prime contractor for this $ 3,192,000 resurfacing project. Work includes milling and resurfacing of over four miles of Route 220 southbound between the Route 287 in Piatt Township and Pine Creek in Pine Creek Township, Clinton County, including resurfacing the ramps at the Route 220/Route 44 interchange (Main Street) and Route 3027 interchange (Thomas Street) in Jersey Shore Borough. Additional work includes drainage upgrades, sawing and sealing of asphalt, bridge preservation on several structures, guiderail and concrete barrier upgrades, line painting, and traffic delineators. Work on this project is expected to be completed on in September of 2024.
