PennDOT, Grove City Police, Highway Safety Network to Host Bicycle Rodeo

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is partnering with the Grove City Police Department and the Highway Safety Network to host a free children's bicycle rodeo on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Grove City Memorial Park.

Young cyclists will have the opportunity to learn skills that make them safer riders through a series of stations focused on bicycle maintenance, proper helmet fitting and usage, and a skills-based obstacle course.

Children up to the age of 12 are encouraged to attend. All attendees should bring a bicycle and a helmet. A limited number of free helmets will be available to those who do not have one or have a damaged helmet that is deemed unsafe upon inspection.

Riders are encouraged to wear weather-appropriate clothing and shoes that cover the entire foot.

Pre-registration is available on the Grove City Police Bicycle Rodeo Facebook event page or by clicking here. A parent or guardian must be present and accompany the participants throughout the event.

A free hot dog lunch will be provided to everyone in attendance, courtesy of the Grove City Police Department.

Additional support for the event will be provided by Gear Bicycle Sales.
