First closure is planned for March 31-April 3; three more to follow
Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the first of four weekend closures planned on a 3-mile resurfacing project on River Road (Route 3030) in Manor Township, Lancaster County, is this weekend. The closures are needed so large pipes can be replaced.
Weather permitting, the first closure will be from 7:00 PM Friday March 31, through 5:00 AM Monday, April 3. There will be no closure the weekend of April 7-10. However, closures are tentatively scheduled for April 14-17, and April 21-24, plus an additional closure is scheduled for the weekend of April 28-May 1 so a pipe can be replaced at a sharp curve just south of Penn Street (Route 999).
A detour will be in place during the closures using Penn Street (Route 999), Central Manor Road (Route 3017), and Letort Road (Route 3032).
Should inclement weather or other unexpected conditions prevent the contractor from closing the road and replacing a pipe, the following weekend will be used for that pipe, and remaining work will be pushed out to the next weekend or weekends.
This project consists of asphalt resurfacing, base repairs, drainage replacement, guiderail updates, line painting, sign updates, and other miscellaneous construction on River Road (Route 3030) from the intersection with Letort Road (Route 3032) to the intersection with Penn Street (Route 999).
This project is expected to be completed by June 30, 2023.
Pennsy Supply, Inc., of Harrisburg is the prime contractor on this $2,986,561 project.
