Tourist Park Road (Route 4006) Bridge Closed in Halifax Township, Dauphin County

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a small bridge on Tourist Park Road (Route 4006) in Halifax Township, Dauphin County, is closed. The bridge, located at the intersection with Middle Road (between Route 147 and Route 225), is closed until further notice due to deterioration discovered during a recent inspection.

Dauphin County Maintenance Organization is currently planning to replace the structure with a large concrete pipe. This work is expected to be completed in June of this year (2025).

In the meantime, a detour is in place. Travelers heading west from the east (Route 225) side of the closure should take Route 225 (Armstrong Valley Road) south to Halifax Borough, turn left onto 4th Street, right onto Market Street right onto 2nd Street and continue straight onto Route147 (River Road) to travel north to Tourist Park Road.
