Reminder: Concrete Repairs Begin Tomorrow Night on NB I-81 in Dauphin County

​Work is part of concrete repair project on I-81 in Franklin and Dauphin counties, and on I-83 in York County

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) reminds travelers that concrete patching is scheduled to begin tomorrow night then continue Friday night thought Sunday morning on northbound I-81 just north of the George N. Wade Memorial Bridge in Harrisburg, Dauphin County. 

Weather permitting, this work will be performed from 8:00 PM Thursday, October 24, to 6:00 AM Friday, October 25, then resume at 7:00 PM Friday, October 25, and continue to 5:00 AM Sunday, October 27. The northbound I-81 center lane and right lane will be closed during that time. The left lane will remain open. Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.

Should inclement weather delay this work, it will be performed Nov. 7-10 during the same hours.

This work is part of a nearly 20-mile concrete repair project on Interstate 81 in Franklin and Dauphin counties, and on Interstate 83 in York County.

JD Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, PA, is the contractor on this $2,776,703 project. All work is expected to be completed by September 12, 2025.
