Pavement Repairs This Week and Weekend on EB Route 581 in Cumberland County

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that pavement repairs are planned for this week and over the weekend on eastbound Route 581 in the area of the off-ramp to Route 11/15 (Camp Hill/Gettysburg) in Cumberland County. Lane restrictions will be in place.

Weather permitting, concrete patching will be performed from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the nights of Wednesday, July 12, and Thursday, July 13. There will be lane closures while this work is performed.

This work will continue at this location from 8:00 PM Friday, July 14, to 6:00 AM Monday, July 17. The right travel lane will be closed through the weekend.

Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.

This work was added to a 4.8-mile resurfacing project on Interstate 83 in Dauphin County. The project extends from Cameron Street in the City of Harrisburg, through Swatara Township, to Union Deposit Road in Lower Paxton Township. The project includes concrete patching, milling, paving, and other work on the I-83 mainline, as well as on ramps and bridges within the project limits. on

JD Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, PA, is the prime contractor on this $4,884,987 project. Work is expected to be completed by November 20, 2023.
