Lane Restrictions Next Week on I-81 in Cumberland County

Restrictions and shoulder closures on I-81 bridges over Stonehouse Road for inspections, concrete coring

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that there will be lane restrictions next week on Interstate 81 in Dickinson Township, Cumberland County. The restrictions will be in place so the I-81 bridges spanning Stonehouse Road between Exit 37 (Route 233/Newville) and Exit 44 (Route 465/Allen Road) can be inspected and concrete coring can be performed for a future bridge rehabilitation project.

Weather permitting, this work will be performed from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Wednesday, May 22, and Thursday, May 23. Work will be in the southbound direction on Wednesday, and in the northbound direction on Thursday. There will be temporary shoulder and lane closures in the direction work is being performed. 

Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.
