Inspection Planned for I-83 Viaduct Bridge Between Susquehanna River and Cameron Street in Harrisburg, Dauphin County

Shoulder, lane restrictions on ramps and streets under bridge; rolling left lane closure on I-83

Harrisburg, PA The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that an inspection is planned for the Interstate 83 viaduct bridge spanning multiple ramps and streets between the Susquehanna River and Cameron Street in Harrisburg, Dauphin County.

This work will be performed from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM Thursday, February 13, through Saturday, February 18.

There will be shoulder and lane restrictions Thursday and Friday on the ramps and roadways below I-83 in this area to inspect the underside of the bridge. This includes Cameron Street, Front Street, the ramp from southbound Front Street to northbound I-83, and the ramp from northbound I-83 to Second Street.

On Saturday, there will be a rolling left lane closure in both directions of I-83 so the top of the bridge can be inspected.

Travelers are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs, and to use caution when driving through work zones for their safety, as well as for the safety of the road crews.
