Bridge was closed in July for rehab project; detour lifted
Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the Colonial Road (Route 4015) bridge spanning Davidsburg Run between Harmony Grove Road and Davidsburg Road in Dover Township, York County, is open to traffic.
The bridge was closed in July for rehabilitation. A detour associated with this work has been lifted.
This work is part of a two-bridge rehabilitation project that also included work on the Cly Road (Route 1013) bridge over Conewago Creek in Conewago and Newberry townships. The Cly Road bridge opened to traffic on Thursday, October 19.
Work on each bridge included removing the existing superstructures and replacing them with prestressed concrete spread box beams with a composite reinforced concrete deck and barrier supported on existing concrete substructures.
The tops of existing substructures were modified to provide new reinforced concrete bearing seats. Work also includes minor approach roadway reconstruction, scour protection, guide rail, and other miscellaneous construction.
JVI Group, Inc., of York Springs, PA is the prime contractor on this $2,927,863 project.
