Box culvert project part of 2.5-mile resurfacing project; project continues with ADA ramp upgrades, resurfacing
Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that Church Street (Route 3017) in East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County, is open to traffic. The road was closed in June for a box culvert project over an unnamed tributary to Swarr Run just north of Stone Battery Road at Four Seasons Golf Course.
A detour associated with this work has been lifted.
This work is included in a 2.5-mile resurfacing project on Church Street that consists of a curve realignment between Nolt Road and Bowman Road, milling and paving, ADA ramps upgrades, sidewalk improvements, drainage upgrades and other miscellaneous construction from Huntington Place in West Hempfield Township to Main Street at Landisville in East Hempfield Township.
Curve realignment was performed earlier this year.
Work on this project continues. The contractor will perform curb ramp upgrades for the next several weeks. The majority of the resurfacing work is expected to be completed next year with short-term lane restrictions under flagging.
All work is expected to be completed by September 20, 2024.
JVI Group, Inc., is the contractor on this $3,529,995 project.
