Bridge Superstructure Replacement Project to Begin on Oak Hall Road (Route 1024) in Perry County

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a bridge superstructure replacement project is scheduled on Oak Hall Road (Route 1024) in Perry County. The bridge spans Buffalo Creek between Buffalo Creek Road and Old Ferry Road north of Newport in Oliver Township.

Weather permitting, the bridge will be closed Monday, June 5. A detour will be in place using Oak Hall Road, Milford Road (Route 1009), and Route 849 (Creek Road). 

This project consists of the superstructure replacement, construction of a retaining wall, masonry repairs, scour protection, associated roadway, guide rail, signing and pavement markings, drainage, and other miscellaneous construction.

The contractor currently is performing prep work at this location. Traffic impacts are expected to be minimal until the bridge is closed on June 5.

Work is expected to be completed by September 18, 2023.

Jay Fulkroad and Sons, Inc., is the contractor on this $1,295,829 project.
