Traffic restrictions will be in place
Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today there will be traffic restrictions this week at the Interstate 81/Interstate 78 Interchange (Exit 89) in Union Township, Lebanon County, so bridges can be inspected.
Weather permitting, an inspection will be performed Wednesday, November 15, on the westbound I-78 bridge spanning the ramp from southbound I-81 to eastbound I-78. There will be left and right shoulder closures on the ramp from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
An inspection will be performed Thursday, November 16, on the northbound I-81 bridge spanning westbound I-78 and the southbound I-81 ramp to eastbound I-78. There will be alternating left and right lane closures on westbound I-78 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Travelers are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs, and to use caution when driving through work zones for their safety, as well as for the safety of the inspection crews.
